CEO of the Cordoba Foundation, Anas Altikriti, was scheduled to the speak at the JFAC Rally, Remember 03.30.03 but due to poor health was forced to cancel.
He sent the following statement of support.
I had hoped to be with you today, but my support, best wishes and prayers for you and this noble cause are solid and unwavering
The Justice for Aafia Siddiqui Coalition is an effort to not only establish justice in the case of Aafia and her children, but an effort to restore our collective humanity and appreciation of justice which have been severely damaged as demonstrated by this case of grave injustice and serious inhumanity.
From the moment that Aafia and her children were abducted, every aspect of this case has been nothing if not an indictment of a system which claims to be humane, to be just and to be free.
For that reason, we should all be aware that while you are today standing up for Aafia, in actual fact we are all standing up for our and our future generations' humanity, dignity, freedom and justice.
I pray with you for Aafia and for her children and family. I pray that this sordid and shameful episode be brought to a quick, satisfactory and just end. But I also pray that we as a society do not come to pay for the great and considerable crimes that have been committed in our names against Aafia and thousands like her.
