British peer Nazir Ahmed was invited to speak at the JFAC rally outside the US Embassy on August 15th. Regrettably he was unable to attend but sent this statement of support:
I am sorry I could not join you today.
I do not believe that there is any evidence to convict Aafia. I believe that this is a miscarriage of justice to strengthen the USA Government’s argument about the War on Terror.
She is a victim and needs to be released immediately.
There should be an international inquiry into her children's abduction.
