Aafia Siddiqui has been moved from the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn, NY to FMC Carswell, which provides 'specialised medical and mental health services to female offenders.'
During her sentencing hearing, in which she was sentenced for 86 years, Judge Berman recommended that she spend some time in the Texas Federal Medical Center, for her mental healing. On being asked how she felt about the facility, as she had been held there previously in late 2008, Aafia replied, 'Carswell is different. I wouldn't say it's better. It's not. It's a strange place.'
We encourage both those who have written to her in the past and those whom would like too for the first time to send her a card, or letter to show Dr. Aafia that she has your moral support.
